Singer Taylor Swift, 35, revealed that she was afraid that her inspiration could stop flowing when she reached full happiness. The pop star released her 12th studio album, “The Life of A Showgirl” amid the height of her personal life after being engaged to football player Travis Kelce, also 35, and admitted that she feared having nothing more about what to write when living a stable relationship.
In an interview with the program “BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James”, the artist talked about the successor of, 2024, and admitted that she always saw herself as an tormented poet.
“It’s wonderful. I used to have this dark fear that if it was ever really happy and free, being myself and welcomed in a relationship, what would happen if the writing simply dried? And if it was directly attached to my torment and my pain?
Unlike other works, in which he exploited projections for the future, Taylor said that this time he preferred to look at the present. “With this album, my life is exactly where I was when I wrote the album,” he said.
The Grammy winner returned to work with producers and shellback after years without collaborations, and explained that during this period she developed a new creative skill. “I made this album with Max Martin and Shellback, with whom I hadn’t worked for about seven or eight years. When we were away, we were all around different types of powers, and one of the things I really played in that time was writing in character, developing these figures and their trajectories – and this is present in this work.”
The interpreter of “Shake It Off” added: “Even though it is about my life, sometimes you do a cosplay, as if it were a love song through the lens of life of Elizabeth Taylor. There are different plots that I think we are testing on this album and that are the unfolding of my practice and my effort until I could do this kind of work.”
