The Attorney General of the Republic, asked the (Supreme Federal Court) to archive an inquiry against (PL) and the misuse of public resources in acts of 7 September 2022, the bicentennial of Independence of Brazil, for the benefit of that year’s election campaign.
According to, the same conduct has already been analyzed in the trial of the 2022 coup plot, in which the two were convicted on September 11 as leaders of a criminal organization that tried to give a coup in the country.
The rapporteur of the case is the minister and it will be up to him to welcome the filing. By the rule, as is the holder of the criminal action, it is usual that the case is closed after manifestation in this regard.
“The offenses portrayed in this petition are encompassed in the crimes already reported. There are no new elements capable of expanding the typical framing formulated in PET No. 12.100/DF,” says PGR.
The investigation was Bolsonaro, using administrative structure and public resources, for the election campaign. Braga Netto was a candidate for vice president on the plate.
The representation pointed to the misuse of institutional symbols, goods and public resources for the benefit of the 2022 election campaign, in demonstrations made in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro.
From the same acts, Bolsonaro and Braga Netto were ineligible for eight years by decision of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).
Bolsonaro was already 2023, in the trial of an action that dealt with a meeting with ambassadors in which he made attacks and released lies about the electoral system.
The 2021 Independence holiday, in turn, has transmuted into the former president.
At the time, Bolsonaro threatened the Supreme Court against thousands of supporters in and Sao Paulo, exhorted disobedience to justice decisions and said he would only leave the presidency of the Republic.
