We have already imagined the best known vampires of plants such as aphids and pills. In the bright world of nature, however, there are a number of other, less striking, but no less rolled…
Fruit trees can torment, for example, pucks and labels. In addition to weakening the plant by sucking, it is burdened with poison substances that let it into it along with the saliva. Females and worms larvae will be reflected in changes in the color and premature leaf of leaves, deformations and flowering disorders. Males do not participate in feasting, only participating in the formation of the next generation.

Masked under the gable
For example plum fuck (Parthenolecanium corni) The sap of trees tastes, especially the fruit – and it does not have to be just plum. The females are about 0.5 cm in size, so it would seem that you will reveal them easily. But they are covered with a compact label sessile to a sheet or twig that protects them and at the same time make them very unobtrusive. The female also hides the eggs under it, and when the label dies, the label has been protecting the young larvae for some time. When they grow, they suck the juice from the leaves and later hibernate on the twigs. In the spring he focuses on young shoots.
Tiny but dangerous
Gabled They are barely 2 mm large. Females not only do not fly, but do not even have legs. They are hidden in armor of wax, old larvae and feces. The larvae are only movable after hatching. Once they find a suitable place, they are sucked, they create a wax label and do not go anywhere.
Tinker (Lepidosaphes ulmi) sucks in the juices of various woods, in young trees it can also cause them to die. During the big attack, the labels and undressed tags look like the bark as if they were scab. The eggs hibernate in the wax box at the end of the female butt, which has already died.
Tag (Quadraspidiotus pernundios) It is originally from China, but unfortunately it has been introduced into orchards around the world. In the case of a large onslaught, it causes young trees to die, on the branches the colonies are a gray coating. The larvae also attack fruit, apples and pears wearing small red spots, in the center of which you will reveal 2 mm large labels with larval undress. Unlike most species, this label can create three generations per season, hibernating larvae.
Worms
Puklice and Labenky belong to the family and subordinates of the worm -like. Worms are thermal and most representatives dwell in the tropics and subtropics. Of the 5,000 species, however, approximately 200 occurs IU. Only some of them live outside, the rest feast in greenhouses and suffers from citrus.
Only one generation is usually born within a year, but the female clutch can count several thousand eggs. Males are winged, but they do not have a mouth and the whole digestive system is missing, they do not receive food in adulthood. All the time takes them a single task – to find females that they spend their lives in one place and fertilize them. Some females are missing only wings, others and eyes and legs. Only freshly hatched females can have the first stages movable to find a convenient place to live. Then they just suck, wait for the male and protect the offspring.
How to relieve trees?
Religible biological protection against the worms in the garden are ladybugs and their larvae, and as well. These small predators do not discourage shields. Therefore, if you support the ladybugs in a successful hibernation, they will be able to reproduce next spring and you will get the best allies in the garden care, – free and without chemistry. (More about hibernating ladybugs on page 8). In greenhouses, where our domestic ladybugs are not successful, Australian ladybugs have been successfully used for years Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri.
If you need to hit immediately, they offer the help of insecticides – but be careful not to avoid the natural enemies of the ladybug and not prepare even greater worries in the future. Therefore, oil -based sprays are more gentle, but it is necessary to use repeatedly in different stages of worms. However, even industrial insecticides do not have to work for the first time 100 %, because the labels and the pucks protect their shields. Ecologically harmless sprays based on plant essential oils, such as Prev-Gard, are also available on the market. This novelty with orange oil has a number of absorbent pests and also suppresses fungal diseases. They smell pleasantly when applied, but the pucks have a different opinion.
Tip: Like aphids, the worms can keep the ants in exchange for honeydew. In this case, you can dust the stems of plants and soil below them with quartz, ie a diatom rock or diatomite. Tiny silica particles cause too active ferd to movement problems.
