Driver took about two hours to leave the car
The Los Angeles City Council, in the southwest of the United States, was evacuated after a car had stunned on the building’s staircase, with the driver later being detained by police, according to the authorities.
About two hours after the accident on Friday afternoon, the driver was seen leaving the car and walking with his arms raised towards a line of police vehicles and the firefighters, and was then handcuffed. There were no immediate reports of injured, according to police.
The mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, stressed on the social network X that the anti -bomb squad of the city’s police department had arrived at the scene of the accident, although he also said that the situation had been “security resolved.”
The suspect outside of City Hall is now in custody and the LAPD bomb squad is on the scene.
Thank you to all of the brave first responders who safely resolved this situation with compassion and urgency.

Bass had said earlier that the House building was being evacuated “for excessive caution.”
Police responded to reports, shortly after 16:00 (midnight on Saturday), about a traffic collision, according to Charles Miller, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police officers then began to contact the driver. The circumstances that led to the accident are not yet known.
A video recorded by US television helicopters, shortly after the accident, shows the driver in the front seat and a cardboard in the window with the words “I need your help,” in reference to US President Donald Trump.
“Thanks to all the brave rescuers who resolved this situation with security, compassion and urgency,” said Karen Bass, on social network X.
