Sanae Takaichi elected chairman of Japan’s government party LDP

Tokyo – Japan is to be ruled for the first time by a woman in the future. Sanae Takaichi won the race for the chairmanship of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party LDP on Saturday and most likely also becomes the country’s first prime minister. Usually the party leader also becomes head of government. The election in parliament is scheduled for October 15th.
