The prosecutors have called for a preliminary preliminary against Robert Golob as there are suspicions that he intervened in the police work, his office said today, confirming information reported by Slovenian media.

This request was made on Thursday by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to the Ljubljana court, the prime minister’s office said, adding that “if the investigation continues, the prime minister will fully cooperate with the competent authorities as the rule of law is the foundation of equality”.

Earlier, the Office of the Public Prosecutor of the Special Department, who is responsible for investigations against public officials, confirmed to the French Agency that a “one person” investigation was submitted without clarifying his identity.

Golob’s lawyer, Stojan Zdolsk, commenting on media information, said the prosecution’s request is “unfounded” and expects the court to reject it.

They accuse him of attempting to “clearing” executives appointed by the previous government

Former Interior Minister Tatiana Bobnar, who resigned in 2022 five months after taking up her duties, accuses Golob of asking her, as well as the police chief, to “clear” the body of the officials appointed by the previous body. Golob denies the charges but a police investigation resulted in a lawsuit against him in October 2024.

The 58 -year -old golob, a businessman who turned to politics at the age of age, won the April 2022 parliamentary elections against Jansa, a fan of US President Donald Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Victor.
