A limited edition of a Portuguese olive oil has arrived in Portuguese supermarkets that boast a weight title: “The best oil in the world”. The recognition comes from the Mário Solinas 2025 award, considered the most prestigious international contest dedicated to extra virgin oils, promoted by the International Olive Council (IOC).

Portuguese olive oil wins the world top

According to the Agribusiness Portal, specializing in the agri -food sector and in the agricultural and agricultural industries, Oliveira da Serra has launched a new limited edition of its extra virgin oil, distinguished with first place in the light green category of the Mário Solinas 2025 prize.

This distinction is considered one of the most demanding in the sector, evaluating parameters such as balance, harmony, aroma and complexity.

The competition brought together 130 olive oils from countries such as Algeria, China, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey. According to Agribusiness, Portuguese olive oil stood out among the participants, collecting the gold medal and reinforcing Portugal’s name in the international panorama.

From Alentejo to the World

Produced at the Marmelo Lagar, in Ferreira do Alentejo, this olive oil is born from NutrifarMs olive groves – the agricultural unit responsible for the brand’s oil. Production is limited and is based on a rigorous process that privileges the selection of olives and respect for Terroir Alentejo.

In statements cited by agribusiness, Ana Schedel, Brand Manager da Oliveira da Serra, said that the purpose of this release is “sharing with the Portuguese and the world an exceptional olive oil, which celebrates the best in our country”.

According to the same source, this limited edition is now available at the usual points of sale of the brand, including supermarkets across the country, which makes it possible for any consumer to bring home award -winning olive oil.

The publication Packaging magazine also confirmed the launch, stressing that this product fits the brand’s premium positioning strategy, which seeks to value the excellence and authenticity of Portuguese olive oil.

A award -winning flavor

The Mário Solinas award is considered the olive olive oil, distinguishing only the best extra virgin oils in the world. The light green category, in which Oliveira da Serra won, privileges delicate and balanced sensory profiles, with fresh and vegetable notes.

According to the international jury acknowledged in this olive oil an exceptional aromatic profile, reflecting technical quality and productive consistency. The result reinforces the reputation of the Marmelo Lagar, already distinguished in previous national and international competitions, as recalls the magazine FLF.

Oliveira da Serra describes this olive oil as a tribute to land and Portuguese agricultural work. With numbered bottles and controlled production, the product must have limited distribution and higher price, reflecting its international distinction.
