The literary market jumped out in 2025. According to the Book Retail Panel Report, held monthly by the National Book Editors Union (Snel) and Nielsen, book sales by Brazilian retailers grew between 2024 and 2025, due to the good performance of fiction, children’s and coloring books.
In September, Nielsen -monitored points of sale sold 3.8 million copies, representing an 8.95% growth compared to the same month of the previous year. The revenue was also discharged from R $ 178.2 million to R $ 197.5 million.
Since 2024, the sector has performed positive performance. The growth trend should be maintained by 2025, as the panel recorded favorable results in most months, except March, when there was retraction in both sales and revenue.
From January to September 2025, the report points to an 8.85% increase in revenues and 7.72% in the volume of copies sold. In absolute terms, 40.2 million units were sold, generating a total revenue of R $ 2 billion.
