On Tuesday, October 7th, the first overflow of 2025, known as the “Full Moon of Harvesting”, will illuminate the sky, inaugurating a series of three striking lunar phenomena that will continue until December.
This year’s October Full Moon is expected to be the largest and brightest of the year, as the Moon will be at the nearest point of its orbit around the Earth. This is the first over -after November 2024 and will be visible in many areas, as long as the weather allows.
The name “Full Moon of Harvesting” comes from the tradition of giving names to the full moons of the year, usually inspired by nature and agricultural activities. Although October is known as the month of the “Hunter of the Hunter”, this year this Full Moon bears the title of “Full Moon” as it rises closer to the autumn equinox – a period associated with crop harvesting.
