The Attorney General of the Union (AGU) has notified the goal, responsible for Facebook and Instagram, to adopt blocking and removal of content that promote the illegal sale of seals, lids, labels and bottles of alcoholic beverages.
The notification was made at the time the government adopts measures to combat the tampering of alcohol by methanol. Until the morning of Sunday, 5, the Ministry of Health confirmed 195 methanol poisoning records.
The National Prosecutor’s Office of the Union of Defense of Democracy, an agency linked to AGU, gave 48 hours for the goal to inform the measures adopted to identify this type of content and remove it from the air. If this does not occur, the US company should be the subject of legal measures in the civil, administrative and criminal spheres, according to a statement issued by the government.

AGU cites a report from BBC Brazil released last Friday, 3, on the clandestine trade of these materials used for drink tampering.
“The ads offer products from well -known brands and even fake” IRS “stamps, with delivery across the country and large -scale sale to groups and communities with thousands of participants,” said AGU.
“In the notification, the AGU highlights that conduct violates health, criminal and consumer protection rules, and may configure a crime against public health (art. 272 of the Penal Code). The Attorney’s Office also points out that inertia in the moderation of these contents contradicts the platform’s own policies, which expressly prohibit the sale of illegal products and materials intended for forgery,” he added.
