In an interview with Contilnet, during the expofronteira, the mayor of Assis Brazil, Jerry Correia, spoke about the state political scenario, the importance of the union of forces around common projects, and the legacy he intends to leave after eight years ahead of the city. He said that in politics everything is possible, including alliances between former opponents, such as a possible union between Tião Bocalom and Mailza Assis, noting that “politics is the game of articulation.”

Asked about the main legacy of his administration, Correia was emphatic in stating that the greatest pride is to have promoted the emancipation of people through income generation, incentive for agricultural production and investments in education. “When a person has a fixed income in his home, he becomes free, it does not mean that he will not depend on politicians. My dream is to grow this movement of job and income generation,” he said.
About the future of the Expofronteira, the mayor confirmed that the event should be held annually, with the support of local, state and federal authorities, as well as great interest from representatives of Peru and Bolivia.
