Savings are always useful, especially when it comes to financial. But with winter there is also the need for heating, and this – as we know – requires considerable costs. So let’s learn to save the most as much as possible. For example, IS using an ordinary aluminum foil. You don’t believe it is possible?
Radiators work tirelessly often day and night to provide us with home thermal comfort even in the cold months. Nevertheless, a large part of the energy spent will disappear, especially when the heating elements are placed on the outer walls (which is in most cases). The heat that such a radiator is embedded extends evenly in all directions, including the wall that it heats on one side, while the other is exposed to outdoor frost. Let’s put it out.

New task for foil
To increase the temperature in the room, it will be good to ensure that most of the heat is inward, ie to “bounce” the part that, for obvious reasons, heads directly to the wall. It’s not that complicated to know how to do it. Foil stripes, or simply, aluminum foil, are great. We certainly have it at home as a helper in the kitchen, but this time we call it to service for energy saving.

Like in the oven …
Aluminum foil is an excellent material for light reflecting, but also radiant heat. Therefore, we also use it in baking without perhaps realizing it. Thus, the heat that would be irretrievably lost in its bowels after a few centimeters from the radiator to the wall can bounce back into the room from the foil we install in those places. Instead of a cold heat absorber, we get an efficient thermal reflective shield. The temperature in the room will increase and the necessary level of heating will reduce (as well as the energy account).
Simple attachment, big change
That’s all interesting, we can think. But how do I attach such aluminum foil to the wall? You don’t have to worry about anything, the application is very simple. The aluminum foil can be easily glued with double -sided adhesive tape. Ideally, choose one that does not leave the wall after it is removed. But be careful what side of the aluminum foil you stick to the wall and what it will be placed towards the radiator. To work as it should, it is essential that the shiny side of the foil heads to the rooms (ie the radiator).
Insulation and higher temperature
In such a simple way we can create a simple insulating element at home, which will not require even high financial costs, but also reconstruction work that leaves a clutter across the apartment. It is a smart and quick solution to help optimize the radiator performance and use more heat produced to actual heating of the room.
