The aim of the Foreign Policy of the Slovak Republic is not the defeat of the Russian Federation. This was announced in the Sunday discussion session of the quarterly 5 minutes 12 premiere Robert Fico (Smer-SD). By their words will not allow Slovakia to be retracted into any “adventure” against Russia. Fico reiterated that he refuses the war and recognized that the use of military force Russia was a violation of international law.
- Prime Minister Fico refuses that the aim of the Slovak Republic is to defeat Russia.
- The Slovak priority is the end of the war in Ukraine by a peaceful way.
- Slovakia currently does not have sufficient systems to defend objects.
- They prepare the F-16 squadron to take over the airspace protection.
- Fico did not comment on any involvement in drone protection.
“It is not the aim of the Foreign Policy of the Slovak Republic, the Government of the Slovak Republic, to which I am the Prime Minister, the defeat of the Russian Federation. Finally, understand it. This is not our goal. Our goal is to end the war in Ukraine as quickly as possible, because they are the Slavs who are killing each other”The Prime Minister said, saying that if the European Union spent as much energy for peace as he spent to support the war in Ukraine, the war could have long been over. “At this point, there are no historical, legal or moral reasons why Slovakia should be retracted into any adventure against the Russian Federation,” added Fico.
The Prime Minister does not think that Slovakia has the necessary equipment to return compulsory military service, It therefore considers the project of national defense forces a good compromise. At the same time, he stressed that Slovakia has no systems to protect strategic objects such as nuclear power plants. He blames the ex -minister of Defense Jaroslav Naďa. He added that Slovakia needs some time for the squadron to be composed of F-16 fighters complete. “It is still true that our sky is primarily protected by fighters from Poland, the Czech Republic and, I think, from Hungary, preparing the squadron to take over these airspace protection tasks,” approached. He added that therefore there was a decision to buy new fighters so that Slovakia could solve its protection itself.
Fico did not want to comment on whether Slovakia will be involved in the initiative to protect against drones, because he said there is no drone project. This is only a professional discussion. “I have nothing to comment on,” he replied.
