A restaurant ship located in the Italian Municipo of Legnago, on the shores of the Adigio River, has suffered a spectacular accident. This has happened precisely, the day the owner celebrated his 28th birthday. The boat began to sink slowly taking with it “a piece of recent history” of the city, as published by the media .
“There is still a vacuum, but we will start again in a new location,” said the owner, Monia Burato, of what had become a symbol for the locals. “A symbol of Legnago, a unique place that over the years became a home, a dream, a family. It sank under the weight of an unpredictable destination, taking memories, sacrifices, insomnia nights, smiles and so much passion,” he added on social networks.
The ship, anchored in the dike, had been rented at that time to house the events of the Salieri Circus Award. “During the afternoon, he sank slowly, without us noticing the seriousness of the situation. When we realized that there was already water underneath, we evacuated everyone. There were seventy people on board. Fortunately, no one was injured, but it was a complicated situation,” said the artistic director, Antonio Giarola.
Firefighters arrived at the scene, ensuring the area and helping in rescue operations. However, despite its efforts, the restaurant ended up sinking at all. This has meant a whole shock in the region and the news circulated quickly on social networks.
