Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and OpenAI announced on Monday, 6, that they will collaborate in the construction of AMD processors Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centers (AI), according to a statement released. After the announcement, the action of AMD jumped 24.15% pre-market in New York at 8:35 am (from Brasilia).
The agreement involves supplying 6 gigawatts to feed the next OpenAi Generative AI infrastructure with multiple generations of GPUS AMD Instinct. The first delivery of 1 gigawatt will be of the Mi450 model, scheduled to start the second half of 2026.

In a statement, AMD states that the agreement puts both companies “in front of a crucial moment for artificial intelligence”, generating mutual gains and “allowing large scale advances” throughout the ecosystem IA.
Companies did not disclose the total value of the project, but AMD estimates to receive “tens of billions of dollars in revenue” by accelerating OpenAi’s infrastructure construction, as well as bringing “more value to shareholders” and expanding profits per share.
