Financial institution will temporarily suspend services to update their technological system
Sparda-Bank West, one of Germany’s most traditional banks, has announced that it will temporarily close all its agencies and interrupt part of digital services to perform a major technological update.
The measure, which will affect thousands of customers, will take place between October 9 and 13, 2025.
During this period, customers will have limited access to bank accounts and operations, including ATMs, application and telephone support.
The bank reported that on October 10th all agencies will be fully closed, and even self -service services will be unavailable.
The debit card will also work partially, only for basic purchases, which requires prior planning of those who need money in kind.
Therefore, Sparda-Bank West recommends that all account holders withdraw in advance to avoid inconvenience during the transition period.
Reason for the stoppage
The temporary suspension is part of the banking system migration to a new technology platform, administered by the company ATRUVIA AG, specializing in IT solutions to the financial sector.
According to the bank, the change aims to modernize digital infrastructure and offer a safer and more efficient experience.
The new system promises better performance from the online bank, new mobile application and the introduction of SpardaSecureGoan app focused on transaction authorization and increased digital security.
Modernization and Future
With the update, Sparda-Bank West seeks to make its services more comfortable, faster and adapted to future financial market needs.
The institution points out that modernization is a strategic step to track the technological advance of the European banking sector.
Despite momentary disorders, the bank stressed that the interruption is temporary and that all operations will return to normal on October 13, with more modern and safe systems.
