The proposal of Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, to isolate Flamengo in discussions about the Brazilian Football League has gained prominence in recent days. The speech occurred amid the crisis between the blocks and the lawsuit filed by the Rio club.
During interview with CNN Sports S/A this Sunday (5), the CEO of the Fort União League (LFU), Gabriel Limacommented the suggestion and the legal scenario of a league without the red-black.
A. For Leila, one.
The CEO of LFU recognized that it is extreme.
“I think so, in my conception, you do a lawsuit against clubs that are within the same economic block is an extreme action that generates serious consequences for the football supply chain,” he said.
However, despite the speech of the leader, the executive pondered the way of exclusion.
I think the way is not to put anyone against the wall. The path is that you seek convergence. We have been talking to the pound. So, therefore, there is already a process that is a convergence process, but I don’t think the path is to isolate anyone. But also, at the same time, I cannot force Flamengo to be in accordance with what we are dealing with here.
Connect without the mengão it is possible
Asked about the possibility of a union of the other 19 clubs, the CEO confirmed the legal possibility.
“From a nice point of view, anything is possible. There is no restriction in this regard. But again, I do not think that is the way. I prefer or consider this kind of hypothesis, because it seems to me an extreme action, which does not generate value for what we want to build,” he reflected.
For Lima, even if economic isolation occurs, it tends to be temporary.
“I do not believe that it is possible for you to exclude any club, we should nor. Now, from an economical point of view, you may be possible to make a first economic unification without Flamengo, which does not want to participate in the process and, in the future, he will surely join,” said the CEO.
Come on!
The LFU executive, in any case, is confident with the unification of the blocks.
“Anyone who wants to join the process will join, and we will convince others based on argument, showing results,” he said.
According to Gabriel Lima, the Brazilian Unified League is already following a natural path to be formalized at once.
I believe in the unification process. LFU is ready. We already discussed, a few months ago, a potential unification with the Libra clubs. There are some proposals that are right now at the table. So, so, I really believe in this process, I think it will be natural and that it will happen.
