The Government of Pará inaugurates this Tuesday (7) the Bioeconomic and Innovation Park of the Amazon, in, one of the main works of. The conference will take place next month in the city.
Structured in the old warehouses 5 and 6 of Porto de Belém (Porto Futuro Project), the 6,000 m² complex is being announced by state management as the largest bioeconomic hub in Latin America and the only technological park in the world to use forest bioeconomics, integrating science, technology and traditional knowledge.
The work cost about R $ 300 million and includes a business center, with coworkings, incubators and the Forest School of Knowledge, as well as a factorial laboratory, for research and development and experimental production of food and cosmetics from forest inputs.
Governor Helder Barbalho (MDB) says the work is a “global legacy” of the climate conference. The goal is to transform Amazonian biodiversity into high value -added businesses, generating income for traditional communities and sector startups.
