The travel marketing of the Imserso tourism program of the 2025/2026 season, in the Autonomous Communities of Asturias, Catalonia, Castilla La Mancha, Valencian Community, Ceuta, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, La Rioja, Navarra and the Basque Country, so users can make their reservations from 09:00 hours.
Subsequently, on Wednesday, October 8, it will be the day for the rest of the communities: Andalusia, Aragon, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Melilla and Murcia.
Since September 11, the Institute sent during the month a total of 2.8 million cards at 4.3 million people accredited to be able to travel with the new program, which will have 879,213 places, along with several novelties, such as the flat rate of 50 euros for lower pensions and trips with pets.
The accreditation letter includes a key, composed of four numbers, which allows the holder of the same to make their reserve telematically through the reservation center of the adjudicating companies -Social Turism (Ávoris) and the Mundicolor outer-, also attaching its DNI. In the case of reservation in the travel agencies that collaborate with the program, it is only necessary to carry the DNI.
Due to the number of places, the Lot of Costa Peninsular will have a total of 440,284, while 228,142 will be allocated to the Insular Coast Tourism and 210,787 will be reserved for escape tourism.
As the Imserso highlighted in a previous statement, it is a new season that seeks to expand the right to an “active aging” through these trips, without the people with less income being excluded.
In this sense, one of the great novelties for the new season will be 7,447 places that will cost 50 euros each for people with lower pensions, regardless of destiny, distributed among all lots and travel modalities, which “will be allocated to people with economic resources equal or lower than the amount of non -contributory retirement or disability pensions of social security”.
In addition, for the first time, the users of this contest can travel with pets on the travel of peninsular coast and the island coast. In this case, places will be reserved to acquire a trip in the company of these animals, according to the regulations, and thus be able to maintain their care.
Therefore, the bidder must reserve 2% of all the places in lots 1 and 2 for users traveling with a pet or pet. For these purposes, as a company animal, the domestic animal that does not exceed 10 kilograms of weight will be understood, including transport.
Imserso has also underlined the positive impact of the tourism program, not only on the promotion of an active and social life of the elderly, but also on intergenerational and intertritorial solidarity, through travel between different autonomous communities.
On the other hand, it is emphasized that these trips generate employment and an important economic activity in Spain, with the added advantage that this program has become a tool to alleviate the seasonality of the tourism sector, avoiding the loss of many jobs during the low season.
For this reason, the new tender includes that the winning companies must commit to avoid the concentration of these trips in a few dates.
