  • Attorney Peter Kubina announced the final decision of the prosecutor.
  • They were suspected of abuse of powers and obstructing justice.

The Prosecutor of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Bratislava canceled the accusation by former members of the canceled National Criminal Agency (NAKA) Branislav Dunček and Robert Magul, known as the so -called. Čurillovci. They faced the accusation of the offense of abuse of authority of the public official and obstructing justice. Their lawyer Peter Kubina informed about it on the social network. The prosecutor’s resolution is valid.

‘It is apparent from the resolution of the prosecutor that the claim of police officers who have lied to the judge is only the assumption of the VERITAS team investigator, which differs from the content of the file (criminal volume). Applications for consent to the interception had all legal requirements and their content was from the relevant criminal union. It was not an abuse of powers or obstructing justice, ”Kubina explained.

In his words, the prosecutor also confirmed that if the police were to be prosecuted Magula and Dunčko, then their two superiors who signed the applications in question should be prosecuted.

In June, the Investigator of the Office of the Inspection Service accused former operators of the crime of abuse of the authority of the public official and obstructing justice. The police inspection then informed that the couple was supposed to require the deployment of information and technical means (ITP), so-called interceptions, in 2019, based on false facts.

“They were to introduce a judge from the Bratislava Regional Court and provide unsubstantiated information and reasons for ITP deployment. On this basis, the interceptions were also actually deployed. It was one of the cases concerning the well -known criminal group from western Slovakia,“The inspection summed up. She added that the accused were to commit crimes as public officials during the NAKA. If they were guilty, they were punishable by imprisonment of three to 12 years.
