Aurélien Fontenoy, former world-champion-champion mountain cycling champion, joined Guinness by climbing the 686 Eiffel Tower steps on a bicycle, an unprecedented feat that the French cyclist describes as “12 minutes of total effort.”
Fontenoy left competitions for five years to devote himself to the creation of sports content and launch the project “The Climb”, which combines physical overcoming and entertainment. Now your goal is to climb the highest towers in the world on two wheels.
“When I got to the top I was destroyed, but happy. It was 12 minutes to 100%,” he confessed to CNN, explaining that he used only a rigid bike without suspension, which made the challenge even more demanding.
The Frenchman revealed that the Eiffel Tower was the “symbol” that dreamed the most climb and confessed to being surprised to have completed the route so quickly.
The athlete promises not to stay here: he is already in contact with other towers around the world and has the ultimate goal to scale Burj Khalifa, the highest building on the planet, with 828 meters and 160 floors.
