Murchaff’s Defense Minister Abu Kasra and Syrian Democratic Forces Commander General Masluum Abdi agreed today on a general ceasefire on all fronts in northern and northeast Syria, the Ministry of Defense announced.
The truce will come into force immediately, the ministry added.
Recent conflicts between the two sides overshadow a landmark agreement signed in March between the Kurdish leadership of Syrian democratic forces and the new Syrian Islamic leadership to integrate regional power into state institutions.
The agreement was intended to help unite a fragmented Civil War of the Civil War and to pave the way for the Kurdish leadership forces under their control of one quarter of Syria to unite with Damascus, along with regional Kurdish bodies.
