This Tuesday (7), the Ethics Council initiated processes that could lead to the temporary suspension of the mandate of three deputies who participated in the meeting at the beginning of August.

In total, there are four representations targeting Zé Trovão (-SC), Marcel Van Hattem (Novo-RS) and Marcos Pollon (PL-MS) — the latter responds to two representations.

Pollon is subject to leave for 90 days, while the others for 30 days, according to the Chamber.

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, (-PB), decided to join three of the cases, which suggest 30 days of suspension for each of the three deputies, while one of the cases against Pollon, which suggests 90 days of suspension, must be processed separately.

Some of the deputies protested against this unification of processes and must present an appeal against the joining, to be analyzed by Motta.

This Tuesday, a triple list of possible rapporteurs for each case was drawn — the president of the collegiate, deputy Fabio Schiochet (União Brasil-SC), will also choose the rapporteur for each process from the three names drawn. In each draw, deputies from parties that gave rise to the representations against the mutineers were excluded.

For the case against Van Hattem, Trovão and Pollon that was joined, Zé Haroldo Cathedral (PSD-RR), Albuquerque (Republicanos-RR) and Castro Neto (PSD-PI) were drawn.

For the second case against Pollon, Castro Neto, Moses Rodrigues (União Brasil-CE) and Ricardo Maia (MDB-BA) were drawn.

The deadline for instruction at the Ethics Council is 30 days and, after the vote in the collegiate body, it will be up to the Chamber plenary to decide on the suspension, which must be approved by an absolute majority (257 votes out of 513).

Trovão, Van Hattem and Pollon were among the main obstacles that the president of the Chamber encountered on the journey between his office and the resumption of the chair of president of the House, on a journey.

The first even blocked Motta’s passage with his leg, while the others when the president approached.

This Tuesday, the Ethics Council also heard witnesses in a case against André Janones (Avante-MG).

Despite having this option, Motta chose . Instead, it followed the regular and longer procedure, in which cases go through the Ethics Council and, finally, go to the plenary.

In total, the Internal Affairs Office analyzed representations against 14 deputies, but the recommendation to suspend the mandate was given only to the three. For the rest, written censorship must be applied, which does not require analysis by the Ethics Council.

the impeachment process for (PL-SP) could also advance in the council this week, while that of (PL-SP) awaits the sending of documents from the STF (Supreme Federal Court) to the CCJ (Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission).

This Wednesday (8), the rapporteur of Eduardo’s case, deputy Marcelo Freitas (União Brasil-MG), must read his preliminary opinion and suggest the continuation or archiving of the process.

At the Ethics Council, the case against Eduardo began in September, when the period of up to 90 working days began for the collegiate to decide on the revocation. For the deputy to lose his mandate, at least 257 votes out of 513 are needed.

The call for attacks on the STF and threat to the holding of the elections in 2026 was presented by , by senator Humberto Costa (PT-PE) and by deputy Paulão (PT-AL). The deputy has been in the USA since March, where he leads a campaign for sanctions to free the former president (PL) from prison.
