The president of (STF), minister, said on Tuesday (7) that supports an administrative reform “wide and genuinely republican” in the public service. The statement was released after Fachin’s meeting with Federal Deputy Pedro Paulo (PSD-RJ), rapporteur of the reform, who is being processed by the deputies.
In a press release, Fachin said the reform should reach “all state powers and institutions.” “The objective must be to improve the merit, transparency and competition of admission systems, promote the diversity and integrity of the public labor force and ensure the retention of talents through fair, transparent and compatible compensation with the service to the Republic,” he said.
The STF president said some guarantees should be kept to preserve the independence of the judiciary. “The presidency [do STF] It reiterates that constitutional guarantees such as vitality, dismantling and irreducibility of salaries do not constitute privileges, but instruments indispensable to judicial independence and, therefore, to the protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms in the face of eventual arbitrariness of political power, ”added the minister.
In the judiciary, the reform aims to apply the dismissal of judges convicted of disciplinary offenses and end compulsory retirement as maximum punishment, prohibition of 60 days for judges and prohibition of payment of licenses conditioned to the time of service.
