Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, announced that he will auction off the boots he wore in the draw between Cruzeiro and Flamengo, for the Brazilian Championship.
The striker, now a player for the Minas Gerais team, stated that all the money raised will go to the Craque do Ajante project, which promotes social inclusion through sport and serves children and teenagers between 8 and 17 years old.
The model, specially customized for the confrontation, features a symbolic design: a heart divided between the blue and the red, representing the two notable clubs in the striker’s career.
“It’s a very special boot for me and one that I wore at a defining moment in my history. May it now help many, many children”, he said.
Since arriving at , the striker has sought to participate in projects aimed at youth and the sports community.
The “half and half” football boot auction will be held in partnership with Craque do Ajante, and the amount raised will help finance sporting and educational activities offered by the institution.
