Sports Minister stated support to the petista in 2026; your party leadership says it will keep the decision to expel him
The Sports Minister, (PP-MA), attended this Monday (6.out.2025) of event with the president (PT) in Imperatriz (MA), even under pressure from progressives to leave office.

In a speech, he said he made a mistake in 2022, but in 2026 he will be “Free to help Lula be president of Brazil”.
“I want to finish my speech and not my commitment to you. In 2022 I made a mistake, but now, in 2026, it may be that my body is tied, but my soul, my heart and my willpower will be free to fight and help Luiz Lula da Silva to be president of Brazil.”said the minister.
Even with the Ultimatum of the PP, which determined until Sunday (5.out) the deadline for leaving the government, Fufuca did not signal intention to leave. According to allies of the party’s national president, Ciro Nogueira, the caption will keep the decision to expel him from the party.
The situation of Fufuca is similar to that of the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino (União Brasil-PA), who also resists the pressures of his party.
Unlike Fufuca, Sabino even delivered a letter of resignation on September 26, but remained in the government at the request of Lula. He said he would leave after deliveries regarding COP30 (United Nations Conference on Climate Change of 2025). On Thursday (2.out), who will support the petista “Wherever you are” and follows minister.
Sabino’s punishment should be defined this week, but the summit already analyzes to dissolve the party directory in Pará, currently led by him. This would complicate Sabino’s plan to compete for the Senate in 2026.
The PP discusses a punishment for Fufuca, but, according to interlocutors, there is room for a negotiated exit that allows its permanence in the government.
