João Fonseca confirms participation in the last competition of the season

João Fonseca will end the 2025 season at the ATP 250 in Athens, Greece. In an official list released this Monday (6), the Brazilian was confirmed in the competition. The tournament will be held between the 2nd and 8th of November and closes the regular calendar of the Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP).

The championship is new and is led by Novak Djokovic. Previously, this tournament took place in Belgrade, Serbia. However, Nole fell out with the country’s government and changed the location of the tournament.

João Fonseca will have a “marathon” to end the season

With confirmation at the ATP 250 in Athens, he will complete a block of four events at the end of this year. He returns to the regular circuit on October 13th, at the ATP 250 in Brussels, Belgium.

Afterwards, he will play the ATP 500 in Basel, Switzerland, starting on the 20th. The biggest tournament in this final stretch will be in France, starting on the 27th of October.

Last appearance of João Fonseca

João Fonseca’s last competition was the Laver Cup, on September 19th. In the team competition, he beat the Italian Flavio Coboli, and contributed to Team Mundo’s triumph.

Previously, he had won both Davis Cup games, and also helped Brazil win against Greece.

In competitions on the regular circuit, the Brazilian’s last appearance was at the Us Open, where he stopped in the second round, defeated by Tomáš Macháč.
