Amid threats to land subtitles from the government base center, the president (PT) said he will not beg for the support of other parties for those of 2026 and said he found it very difficult for someone to win him.
“I will not beg for any party to be with me, will be with me who wants to be with me. I am not one of those who are trying to buy deputy. It will be with me who wants, who wants to go the other side that goes, and that is lucky because we are sure of one thing: the far right will not go back to rule that country,” he said.
The statements were made in an interview with TV Mirante, from Maranhão, aired on the morning of Tuesday (7) and recorded the day before.
Speaking about the parties, the president had been asked about the pressures made by and, parties that came together in a federation, the dismissal of the ministers (sports) and (tourism).
Lula stated that the decision will be up to the ministers, but stressed that their wish is that both will remain in government. He also said he considered a mistake PP and União Brasil to threaten the ministers of expulsion from parties if they remain in management.
“If the cosia are going well, why move? Why does this smallness of thinking that it hinders a good minister who is doing a good job? Was it angry? When the time of elections arrived each one goes to the corner he wants,” said the president.
