The governor of Minas Gerais, (new), said on Monday (6) that President Lula and PT are opponents and it is with them that the right should fight.
The statement of the president made after discussion between the senator and president of, (PI), and the governor of Goiás, (Union), over the weekend.
“I confess that I followed this controversy very much. I have concentrated my energies to take care of mines. In politics, my opponents are Lula and the PT. I think they are the opponents from the entire right. It is with them that the right should fight,” he told the Sheet.
On Sunday (6), Caiado criticized the senator who, in an interview with the newspaper O Globo, excluded the name of the governor of the list of presidential supported by Bolsonaro.
The president of the PP cited the governors of São Paulo, (), and Paraná, (), as candidates from the right to the presidency in 2026.
The governor called the “expressionless” senator, he said he will maintain his candidacy and mentioned the new candidate for the Planalto Palace.
“Arctally, Ciro already vetoes at least three pre-candidatures: those of Romeu Zema, Eduardo Bolsonaro and mine, providing a huge disservice on the right. I do not speak for Zema or Eduardo, but as for my pre-candidacy, I must say that I do not depend on Ciro Nogueira’s endorsement,” said the Goian governor.
The senator then replied on social networks: “I saw Governor Ronaldo Caiado’s post about my interview. It caught my attention to the enormity of size. It must be free time. I don’t. Especially for empty controversy. Our opponent is Lula. Caiado, can say anything: Are you right. Satisfied?”.
Allies of other right -wing governors, reservedly, had the same speech to minimize the fight. They said they were something punctual and should not repeat themselves.
Caiado, who has already claimed the presidency in 1989, was one of the first right -wing governors to put himself as a candidate for the Plateau in 2026. According to interlocutors, he decided to answer publicly for understanding that Ciro Nogueira would have been disrespectful to the other candidates, as himself.
The governor tells the allies to know the resistance he will face in his federation, but that cannot be publicly rifled in this way by allies. Seu União Brasil and the PP of Ciro Nogueira and last month announced together.
Caiado has already opened conversations with other parties about any affiliation, if the Union-progressive Federation decides to support other names. He maintains conversations with solidarity and PRD, which also fed next year.
