Commentator José Eduardo Cardozo and journalist and former senator Ana Amélia Lemos discussed, on Tuesday (7), in The Great Debate (from Monday to Friday, at 23h), if President Lula is at risk if he does not beg for the support of parties.

In an interview with TV Mirante, affiliated with Rede Globo in Maranhão, Lula stated that, and will not beg for any party to be with him. Speech occurs amid the landing of União Brasil and the PP of the Government.

Cardozo evaluates that Lula’s speech is correct.

“At that moment, he can say this as a demarcation, because precisely he is saying that there are others who will come. This, in a moment of the far right, of successive clums, brings an alarm to those who were abandoning the boat to surf another,” he said.

“Nothing says that you can not have casualties the next moment, new facts, new situations may come. The election is decided in the final stretch, until then there will be ups, downs, aid, disturbed, this is political life,” he concluded.

Ana Amelia understands that Lula is at risk.

“No one can despise any ally to win an election. So President Lula, who knows what politics is like, could not belittle anyone right now,” he said.

“He, of course, is surfing in a popularity achieved with the resumption of understanding with the United States, particularly with Donald Trump, is sailing with the victory he had in Congress with the voting of income tax exemption, this has a very important electoral effect, but it is the economy that will determine 2026 and the numbers are not favorable,” he continued.
