An explosion of gas followed by the collapse of the ceiling of a restaurant in the neighborhood of Bixiga, in central São Paulo, left at least three people injured on Wednesday (8).
The Fire Department was triggered shortly after noon. According to the corporation, two people remain under the rubble, while a victim has already been rescued. There is still no detailed information about the health status of the injured.
The incident occurred at the Jamile restaurant, owned by the chef and jury of the MASTERCHEF BRAZILHenrique Fogaça. Inaugurated in 2015, the establishment is one of the best known of the chef in São Paulo and is located in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city’s gastronomy.

In addition to Jamile, Fogaça has other projects in the food sector, including Sal Gastronomy, a network awarded two units in São Paulo, and is recognized both in the national gastronomic scene and on television.
Known for combining haute cuisine with popular ingredients, the chef defends an affordable cuisine, creating striking dishes and refined presentation. He is also responsible for the street food gastronomic fair, the Gastropub Cá Véio and the Admiral’s place whiskey bar.
In addition to chef, Fogaça acts as a musician, writer and communicator. He is the lead singer of the hardcore band Oitão, published the books Um Hardcore chef (2017) e The world of salt (2021), and is part of the jury of MASTERCHEF BRAZIL Since the premiere of the program at Band in 2014.
