The Attorney’s Office of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) accepted Grêmio’s request for the annulment of two cards applied in the game against Red Bull Bragantino, for the Brazilian Championship. This was the first time the agency accepted the argument in this regard.

The gaucho club announced the legal victory on Tuesday (7), through an official note published on social networks. The request was for the withdrawal of the red card of defender Walter Kannemann and the yellow of left-back Marlon.

In the match, referee Lucas Casagrande (PR) scored a penalty to the gross mass and even expelled Kannemann, Captain Tricolor. After the match, left-back Marlon made a great outburst ,.

“Grêmio’s legal department has now achieved an unprecedented and historic result in the Brazilian football scenario. For the first time the Superior Court of Justice Attorney’s Office accepted the thesis of a club and is asking the STJD to suspend the effects of the cards applied to two athletes during a match.

The request is on an injunction. From now on, the President of the Court can make a decision at any time. Grêmio waits for the suspension of cards given to athletes Kannemann (red) and Marlon (yellow), applied during the game against Bragantino, last Saturday, in Bragança Paulista.

The match was marked by two serious arbitration errors, which interfered with the result and caused, by the CBF, the removal of the arbitration pair of the match, Lucas Casagrande and Gilberto Rodrigues Castro Junior.

Grêmio follows the case closely and has been taking steps to defend a fair, more qualified arbitration that does not interfere with the outcome of the matches. ”
