The president of Agronex (Association of the Far Southern Bahia), Mateus Bonfim, says rural producers in the region have been expelled from their lands and accuses the negligence.
Those in the region have intensified since early August.
“They are indigenous self -titled calling to resume territory, but they are acting like criminal organizations with weapons and ammunition,” says Bonfim.
“Throughout the invasions, the police only watch and say it is there just so we don’t fight,” he continued.
According to Bonfim, on a farm protected by a court decision – prohibiting prohibition – axed the Military Police of the area.
In another case, in Prado, producers would have been beaten with stabbing and arrows during invasion, but no one was arrested by the authorities.
The president of the association says that the has already done a technical study with the intention of demarcating the land. “But this is not entitled to invade, to shoot people. It is up to define the demarcation or not,” says Bonfim.
Sought by the panel since Monday (6), the government of Bahia did not respond until the publication of this text.
