The rapporteur of the , deputy (Solidariedade-SP), stated, this Tuesday (7), that he met with the president of the Chamber, (-PB), and that the vote on the proposal should take place next Tuesday (14).
Paulinho said he could release the text on the same day or just next week, before the vote.
According to Paulinho, Motta is responsible for agreeing the vote in the Senate with President Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), so that the text is approved in both Houses.
He did not want to elaborate on the project’s points, but it is likely that the penalties for crimes against the democratic rule of law, such as attempted violent abolition and coup d’état, will be imposed. Instead, the more severe penalty would prevail, which would make the total punishment of those convicted less.
The project should benefit both the former president () and the prisoners of January 8, but there is resistance on the left and right.
The center, in agreement with the (Supreme Federal Court), defends replacing the amnesty with a reduction in sentences, but the PL’s Bolsonarist bench rejects this idea and continues to plead for a total pardon for the coup plotters. The left-wing benches even resist the reduction of sentences, opposing any benefits for those convicted of the coup plot.
