A Health surveillance and MPRS (Public Prosecutor of Rio Grande do Sul) seized 14 tons of irregular drinks in a joint mega operation on Tuesday (7), in RosemaryNorthwest region of the state. So far, there is no evidence of tampering.
The action, with nine warrants, collected 25 tons of improper products. Nearly 12 tons of without source or with adulterated labels, and two other expired tons, were seized.
In addition, a market was interdicted for serious hygiene problems.
In addition to the drinks, the operation seized five tons of mortadella, as well as margarines, meat, eggs, beers and diapers won over three years old. Irregularities were found in seven of the nine locations.
Prosecutor Alcindo Luz Bastos da Silva Filho, who led the searches, highlighted the magnitude of .
“This is one of the biggest seizures of beverages without origin already performed by MPRS. Although there is no evidence of tampering, the action reinforces the importance of routine supervision to prevent health risks and ensure the food safety of the population.”
