The rapporteur of the Provisional Measure with alternatives to raising the Tax on Financial Operations (IOF), Carlos Zarattini (PT-SP), accused the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA) and the União Brasil, PP and Republican parties of having failed to comply with an agreement with the federal government on the vote on their opinion in the joint commission. The statements took place this Wednesday (8), in an interview with GloboNews.
The rapporteur demanded that the agricultural bench and center parties vote in favor of the Provisional Measure this Wednesday, the last day for Congress to approve the text before it expires. According to the deputy, there was an understanding between the Chamber and the Senate at lunch on Tuesday (7) for the approval of the MP.
“We made an agreement with the FPA, we made an agreement with the center parties, and we want this agreement to be fulfilled, for them to vote in favor of the Provisional Measure, without highlights. This does not mean that there are no highlights in the plenary, but that they vote against the highlights, to preserve the Provisional Measure”, he declared.

The parliamentarian added: “Negotiation, we did everything possible. Now, we need these people to have their say, honor their word and vote in favor of this text.”
Zarattini also directly cited the president of the FPA, deputy Pedro Lupion (PP-PR). “Yesterday, in addition to the FPA, whose president was there, who is Pedro Lupion, and who did not fulfill what was agreed with us, we had União Brasil, the PP and the Republicans there, who also failed to comply with what we had agreed at lunchtime”, he said.
The PT member continued: “We now want this to be resolved through a vote in the plenary. We approved it by one vote, a very big risk, and we actually won, but we want to win here in the plenary too.”
