An ally of the former president, the former Secretary of Communication of the Presidency said that the appointment of Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to be the American government’s interlocutor with Lula has little force.
He made an ironic comparison with the appointment to be the rapporteur of the amnesty project, later renamed the sentencing dosimetry project.
“The government’s appointment [Donald] Secretary Rubio’s Trump to be the interlocutor with the Brazilian government has exactly the same power as nominating Paulinho da Força and Aécio [Neves] for approval of the amnesty”, he stated.
“Wait for the scenes from the next chapters, get your popcorn,” he added.
Lula and Trump spoke via videoconference this Monday (6). Lula asked for the suspension and also the reversal of the (Supreme Federal Court) and members of his government.
According to a statement from Palácio do Planalto, Trump appointed his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to continue negotiations with Brazilian authorities on the topic.
