The former Secretary of Communication of the Presidency Fábio Wajngarten with the nomination of deputy Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade-SP) to be the rapporteur of the amnesty project, later renamed the sentence dosimetry project.
“The government’s appointment [Donald] Secretary Rubio’s Trump to be the interlocutor with the Brazilian government has exactly the same power as nominating Paulinho da Força and Aécio [Neves] for approval of the amnesty”, he stated.

The leader of na, Sóstenes Cavalcante, and cited the “Rubio factor” when insisting that Trump acts strategically so that at the end of the negotiations he can lay siege to Lula.
“Trump left Marco Rubio, the most ideological secretary, to continue the tariff negotiations, a direct message to Planalto,” Sóstenes published.
Eduardo followed a similar line. “Secretary Rubio knows Latin America well. He knows very well how it works [sic] left-wing totalitarian regimes in the region. He will not fall for this nonsense from the regime, about the independence of an equipped judiciary. Choosing the President [Trump] it only complicates the exception regime. Great goal!” wrote Eduardo Bolsonaro on a social network late this afternoon.
“The left knows that it was not a victory. But for their audience of fanatics they will try to spread their fanciful narratives”, continued the deputy.
Other allies of Bolsonaro have not yet made public statements about the episode and preferred to record videos in support of the “walk for amnesty” act, scheduled for 4pm this Tuesday (7), in Brasília, between the Cathedral and the National Congress.
Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) stated that amnesty is the priority agenda and that “we need to put pressure” on the Chamber and, later, on the Senate.
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) also made a video in front of Bolsonaro’s house in Brasília, where the former president is under house arrest, on Monday afternoon. “We are on the verge of being able to guide the amnesty project in the Chamber. We need your strength more than ever”, he said, when calling for the event.
In the conversation with Trump, as proof of his willingness to dialogue, Lula recalled that, in his first governments, he maintained a good relationship with former American president George W. Bush, also a Republican.
In the end, the two presidents exchanged their phone numbers so they can talk without intermediaries. In the phone call, Trump and Lula even spoke about physical strength.
From the start, Lula commented that he was about to turn 80, six months older than Trump. The American president said he had a strength of 40 years, according to reports. Lula, in turn, claimed to be driven by a cause.
As Mônica Bergamo anticipated, the Republican said that the meeting, last month, was one of the “few good things” that happened to him at the event. In this Monday’s phone call, Trump returned from complaining about the technical problems he faced during his speech, such as the teleprompter.

Both leaders also agreed to hold a face-to-face meeting soon, and Lula suggested the (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) summit, at the end of October in Malaysia, as an option.
According to the statement, Lula made himself available to travel to and meet with Trump.
“President Trump appointed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to continue negotiations with Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, Chancellor Mauro Vieira and Finance Minister Fernando Haddad. Both leaders agreed to meet in person soon. President Lula raised the possibility of meeting at the Asean Summit in Malaysia; reiterated an invitation to Trump to participate in COP30, in Belém (PA); and was also willing to travel to the United States”, stated Palácio do Planalto.
The government note describes that the telephone conversation lasted 30 minutes and took place “in a friendly tone”. Lula and Trump “recalled the good chemistry they had in New York on the occasion of the UN General Assembly”, says Planalto.
