Deputy presented amendment vetoing funding for VIP room – 10/09/2025 – Panel

Federal deputy Adriana Ventura (Novo-SP) celebrated the decision of the Superior Labor Court (TST) at Brasília international airport.

She introduced one that prohibits the use of federal resources for these purposes.

“The allocation of Union funds for this type of expense represents an undue privilege for certain authorities, to the detriment of the country’s real priorities, such as health, education, security and infrastructure for collective use,” she said in the justification for the amendment.

The amendment to the LDO determines that “resources cannot be allocated to cover expenses for the construction, renovation, rental or maintenance of VIP lounges at airports”. The text also extends the prohibition to “new hiring, additions and renewals of any existing contracts”.

The parliamentarian also cites the scenario of strong fiscal restrictions as a reason for establishing the fence.

The final version of PLDO 2026 will still be voted on by the National Congress.
