Vinicius Jr’s house, located in the upscale region of La Moraleja, in Alcobendas, metropolitan region of Madrid, suffered a fire this Thursday (9). According to information from the Spanish newspaper Marca, at 12pm local time, the residence was completely evacuated as a precaution.
The smoke reached two floors, but the damage was restricted to the lower part. The extent of the damage caused by the fire is not yet known.

What caused the fire at Vinicius Jr’s house?
Also according to Marca, the flames started due to a short circuit in the electrical part of the Brazilian striker’s house. Despite this, local authorities must open an investigation process to confirm the exact origin of the flames.
The fire started in the false ceiling of the sauna, located in the basement of the property. The fire spread quickly, completely burning that area of the house.
The Madrid Fire Department was called at around 11am (local time) and managed to contain the fire shortly afterwards. The prior presence of local police officers also contributed to the rapid containment of the incident.
Were there injuries at Vinicius Jr’s house?
Vinicius Jr. was not in Spain at the time of the incident, as he is with the Brazilian team in South Korea, where Brazil is playing a friendly this Friday (10), at 8am (Brasília time), in Seoul. The player is confirmed among the starters, according to the latest indications from coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Despite the scare, there were no injuries or people poisoned by the smoke. The residence was empty at the time of the accident.
