Tarcísio published in the early afternoon of this Thursday (9) a video citing statements from PT members that he was counting on the government to raise R$17 billion in 2026, the election year. The governor, with the help of parties from the center, would have acted to prevent the PT administration from having these resources in an election year, according to Lula’s leaders in Congress.
In the comments, Sóstenes thanks Tarcísio for his help, as well as that of other right-wing governors, “to defeat this tax increase.”
In the video, however, the governor states that the claim that he helped bury the MP borders on absurdity. “Now, the PT wants to accuse me of having worked to prevent the government from charging more taxes to the population. I’m working for São Paulo, to change people’s lives, to make a difference”, says Tarcísio.
In another section, the governor accuses the party of “playing one against the other in an absurd way and wanting the population to support tax increases.” “Nobody, not me, not the country, will support it,” he said.
“Let’s stop inventing guilty parties. Be ashamed, Haddad. Respect Brazilians. Cut spending. Think that we need to govern, we need to get off the platform, we need to work and make a difference”, he continues.
