A identified someone responsible for making online threats against him and opened an investigation into the case.
The person responsible, according to the Panel, is Bento Monteiro, 19, resident of the capital. Dcciber does not confirm the name of the accused, justifying that the case is being carried out under judicial secrecy. The accusations are threats and condoning crime.
The threats were made in messages on X, formerly Twitter. Monteiro, who used a fictitious identity, posted messages that were inspired by a leftist in the USA in September.
In one of the posts, he shows a photo of the councilor sitting down donating blood, with the caption: “Now imagine a video of Pavanato taking a shot like that, hahaha. I’m so happy just imagining it.”
The police searched Monteiro’s house, seizing his cell phone. Based on data analysis, new suspects may be identified for threatening Pavanato, a first-term Bolsonaro councilor.
“It is important that it is clear to these individuals that the police will always identify those responsible for digital threats, even if they use false names”, says police chief Paulo Eduardo Barbosa, who is in charge of the investigation.
