Japan’s junior partner Komeito dissolves government coalition

TOKYO – Japan’s Komeito party will leave the ruling coalition led by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). This was reported by the Kyodo news agency, citing a high-ranking Komeito official. The dissolution of the governing coalition could also jeopardize the ambition of the newly elected LDP leader Sanae Takaichi for the office of prime minister.
