Minister Flávio Dino, from the STF (Supreme Federal Court), won this Friday (October 10, 2025) a case against the from Brasília, due to a medical error that would have caused the death of his son. The compensation is worth R$1.2 million and will be donated in full.

In 2012, Marcelo Dino was admitted to hospital with an asthma attack. According to a statement from the institution, the teenager presented discomfort and difficulty breathing. The medical team reportedly tried to revive the boy at around 7am, but he did not survive.
In the action, the minister alleged that the doctor left the pediatric ICU post and that there was a delay in caring for his son. THE (Civil Police of the Federal District) even investigated the case and a doctor and a nurse were indicted for “manslaughter”, when there is no intention to kill.
Both were acquitted for “lack of evidence”.
