Revised information from the United States Geological Society – USGS reports that the earthquake initially measured as 7.8 is now considered as an earthquake of 7.6 on the Richter scale.
The Chilean authorities issued a tsunami warning in the areas near Antarctica. A tsunami warning was issued by the US NOAA and in particular the US tsunami warning system.
The warning does not mean that a tsunami will be created and how it will be hit, but it is usually accompanied by warnings and exhortation to move from the coastal areas to the mountains. In these very strong earthquakes, there are many cases where warning is issued, starting with waves of 1 to 3 meters.
Notable quake, preliminary info: M 7.6 – Drake Passage
