Experts: Brazil gives way and Venezuelan opposition bets on the USA

In an interview with WWFernando Tibúrcio, a lawyer who works in the defense of persecuted politicians, and Ricardo de Toma, doctor in International Strategic Studies, declared that Brazil has lost its position as the main regional force in resolving the Venezuelan crisis, giving way to the United States after pressure from the country’s opposition.

Tibúrcio even reveals a significant episode that illustrates Brazil’s distance from this issue. According to him, “an emissary from , gave Senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) documents that would prove a significant victory for the Venezuelan opposition, with more than 80% of the votes.” However, attempts to bring this information to the Brazilian government were not successful.

With , “it was natural for the Venezuelan opposition to redirect its efforts to the United States and some European countries”, highlights the lawyer.

Toma reinforces American influence on the Venezuelan issue, when Corina publicly highlighted two crucial points: the struggle of the Venezuelan people and, secondly, the specific support of US President Donald Trump for the opposition’s cause.
