Israeli airstrikes hit the village of Msayleh, in southern Lebanon, killing one person and leaving seven injured this Saturday (11), according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The Israeli army said it targeted sites operated by Hezbollah militants.
“Not long ago, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked and dismantled Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in the southern Lebanon region,” the ministry said in a statement today, adding that the site contained “engineering machinery” used by the Iran-backed group.
The Israel Defense Forces added that the presence of the machinery and the alleged activity constitute a “violation of agreements” between the two countries.
The Lebanese presidency confirmed the Israeli strikes, saying they marked blatant Israeli aggression against what it considered civilian installations.
Israel and Lebanon, after a year of fighting triggered by Israel’s war in Gaza, which culminated in an Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon.
Israel has carried out regular attacks since then, accusing Hezbollah of trying to regroup.
