Opening ceremony brought together regional and state authorities, including governor Jorginho Mello and the city mayor
The 40th edition of of the biggest German party in the Americas, started with a full house and lots of celebration. On the first night alone, more than 26 thousand people passed through Vila Germânica — an increase of 80% compared to the 2024 audience. The event, promoted by Blumenau City Hall and Parque Vila Germânica, continues until October 26th. The opening ceremony brought together regional and state authorities, including governor Jorginho Mello and the mayor of Blumenau. This year’s edition is considered special, marking four decades of celebrating German culture and traditions.
According to the organizers, planning for the party began shortly after the end of the previous edition. The objective, according to the general director of Parque Vila Germânica, was to make the event “emblematic” and worthy of the history of Oktoberfest. In recent years, the profile of the party has undergone significant changes. Previously seen as a celebration focused mainly on beer, Blumenau’s Oktoberfest has been consolidating itself as a cultural and family event. “When we put tradition and culture as highlights, the audience naturally changed,” said the director.
In addition to cultural and gastronomic attractions, the event also opens up space for social actions. In this edition, the public can make donations to the oncology service at Hospital Santo Antônio when purchasing tickets or recharging their Cashless card. With more than four decades of history, Blumenau’s Oktoberfest remains one of the main symbols of German culture in Brazil, bringing together joy, solidarity and tradition.
