United States President Donald Trump told reporters this Friday (10) that he believes the peace plan for Gaza will continue because the sides involved and affected by the conflict are tired of fighting.

“They are all tired of fighting,” said the president. “Don’t forget, there was October 7th, which was a horrible day, 1,200 people dead, but Hamas lost 58,000 people. This is a big retaliation. It’s a big retaliation. People understand that,” he added.

“I think everyone is tired of fighting. And this really gives the entire Middle East — this goes beyond Gaza, Gaza is very important, but this goes beyond Gaza — it’s peace in the Middle East, and that’s a beautiful thing,” he insisted.

The Israeli Army has stated that a ceasefire is now in effect in Gaza, as long as it is in accordance with the agreement approved by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

The 72-hour holdout period for Hamas has begun, and some 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israel will also be released as part of the agreement.
