We do not forget them: In the Slovak Paradise they honor the victims of mountain misfortunes with a memorial memory

A commemorative memory of the victims of mountain disasters will be held at the monastery in the Slovak Paradise. As the village Letanovce informs on its website, The event will start at 11.00 am at the symbolic cemetery, it is open to the general public and will be associated with the Roman Catholic Mass.

The symbolic cemetery is located near the ruins of the medieval chapel for the traveler, which dates back to 1492. The first memorial was held in 2010 and was connected with the Holy Mass and the consecration of the foundation stone, which is a wooden work of art called God’s torture. Memorials are also dedicated to personalities who have contributed to the development of the national park.

The memorial program is still the same – At 11.00 am, the memorial itself begins, followed by the speeches of mayors, representatives of the Slovak Paradise National Park, the Mountain Rescue Service and the civic association Kláštorisko. New names that have been added to the cemetery, be it death or new memorial plains, will always be included, ”said co -organizer Vladimír Mucha for TASR.

As he added, The board will be added the names of two mountain rescuers who died this year. “We also have a board of mountain -service to be honored for them,” added Mucha. The memorial place was created by the cooperation of the Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) Slovak Paradise, the Seniors Club of Mountain Rescue Service in Slovakia, the Slovak Paradise National Park and the Association of Mountain Guides.
